Caged

In a cage, she was locked,
Locked by her own hands
She never did try to break open the locks,
Never wanted to be free.

Until she was tired,
Tired of everything around.
She was a book,
That nobody could ever read.

She tried to break her shells,
To show who she was,
But fear was always there,
What if she wasn’t enough.

Her body shakes,
Still afraid.
But the time has come,
She will break out of her cage.
